Due to visions I began seeing in May 1982, I believe that Laura Ingalls Wilder is God. Do to disputes over my First Amendment rights to speak freely of Lauraism, I was a political prisoner in the mental "health" system from 1983 to 1987. After getting out, I intended to resume my ministry, but harassment drove me underground from 1990 to 2005, and poverty kept me getting the Lauraist Church going as a formal organisation. I self-published a 24-page book titled The Principles of Lauraism in 2001 as a step toward that goal. It will soon be feasible for me to formally organise the Lauraist Church USA as a non-profit organisation.
The primary doctrines of Lauraism are as follows:
*Laura Ingalls Wilder is God.
*Communism is the best form of government.
*Age of consent laws should be repealed.
*A new nation, to be called Edgerton, shall be built upon the area within a 240-mile radius of Minneapolis, Minnesota, as a homeland for the Lauraist religion, in the same way that the Jews have Israel and the Mormons have Utah. Yes, I realise Utah is not an independent country, but it is still the Mormon homeland (also known as Deseret or Zion) and probably would become independent if the political situation in the United States allowed it.
*Public transit within the Nation of Edgerton should be in the hands of the Church and restored to the routes, fares (subject to adjustment for inflation), and schedules in effect 18 September 1970 (the day the Metropolitan Transit Commission bought out Twin City Lines).
*Children deserve the same rights as adults except regarding things where it would endanger public safety.
*All people should have the right to live the way they wish, as long as it doesn't endanger public safety. Laws should exist solely to protect people from aggression, not to force people to be socially acceptable.
*Cleanliness and health should be free choices, not societal mandates. Personal hygiene should be just that - a personal choice.
*Personal sovereignty is more important than happiness. It is better to live your own way and be miserable than to live someone else's way to obtain happiness. This specific Lauraist philosophy is called Northlining.
*People should not be judged for their faults. If you have a problem, you are entitled to the same sympathy and/or help regardless of whether or not the problem is your fault.
