Hi! My name is John Charles Wilson. I am an author, minister, politician, and transit historian living in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Thank you for visiting my personal website.
This is a photo of me at an anti-war protest at Lake Street and Hiawatha, 27 October 2007.
I am a non-traditional Communist. I believe that Laura Ingalls Wilder is God, children should have the same rights as adults except regarding things where it would endanger public safety (in other words, no toddlers driving cars), age of consent laws should be repealed, cleanliness and health should be free choices rather than societal mandates, and all people should have as much personal freedom as possible without endangering public safety. Essentially, I am a libertarian regarding personal freedom and a Communist regarding State ownership of the economy.
I was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where I suffered at the hands of my parents and a regimented school system for 17 years. Disputes over freedoms of speech and religion led to my being a political prisoner in several mental "health" instiutions from 1983 - 1987, including United Hospital (Saint Paul, MN) Adolescent Psych, Eau Claire (WI) Academy, Luther Hospital (Eau Claire, WI) Adult Psych, Ramsey (Saint Paul, MN) Adult Psych, and Anoka (MN) -Metro Regional Treatment Center.
Soon after attaining my freedom, I had to go underground because my parents didn't respect my right to make my own choices as an independent adult. Through most of the 1990s, I lived underground, often homeless, moving from city to city to evade harassment by my parents and neighbours who judged me for my beliefs, hatred of cleanliness, and economic status. After I found out my mother was dead in 1998, I tried to settle down, and lived in Fargo, ND and Duluth, MN before moving to Tucson, AZ to try to start an Internet business and failing. That left me homeless again for a few years; I finally resettled in Ames, IA a few months before my father died in 2005. I then moved to Rochester, MN, then to Brooklyn Park and then Minneapolis, where I currently reside and am now following my dream of a political and religious career, 19 years later than I would have if it hadn't been for the harassment. I have self-published an autobiography titled The Conscience of a Communist and ran for mayor of Minneapolis in 2009, getting 137 votes or 0.30% of the total. I am considering running for governor of Minnesota in 2010, and definitely will run for mayor of Minneapolis again in 2013 and governor of Minnesota in 2014 (unless of course I actually win an election, then I will stick with the office I was elected to).
